2. “Quality”
It’s a tricky subject.
But who should be the judge?
An algorithm?
A marketing exec?
Or us?
3. We believe that our community is the best
judge of our own quality.
Writers, bloggers, photographers… Editors &
publishers… Our audiences.
All we need is a tool to make it possible.
4. Introducing…
A community-driven tool to find and celebrate the
best travel content on the web.
A simple and transparent way for writers, bloggers and journalists to reach new
audiences… and help audiences discover content creators they haven’t seen
before.
A way for our entire community to create a single, definitive “must read” list that
can be connected with publishers, brands and readers across the web.
5. Community-driven
content curation*
We submit the content we
read & love.
Subsequent submissions
of the same article count
as an upvote.
The most successful
content rises to the top.
Each post links directly to
the source – we don’t
scrape or republish any
content.
*Yes we need a better name for this.
6. An important note on:
Pro-active moderation
OutBounding.org is not here to contribute to the Wild West of online content.
Our mission is to cut down on the signal-to-noise problem, not make it worse.
Our team of editor-moderators is located across all the time zones and is
dedicated to making sure that no self-serving, corporate or spam content makes it
through.
We will take a muscular approach to moderation. OutBounding.org is not simply a
popularity contest. We will support new, emerging and lesser-known creators of
amazing content to help them get the attention and traction they deserve.
7. But most importantly…
Feeding the web with the world’s very
best travel content
The end result will be a constant stream of thoroughly curated travel content: “the
very best travel content on the web.”
This stream is made available for display on other websites across the web and
can be integrated into other applications and platforms.
Our feeds will be distributed across all the major social networks, via widgets onto
brands’ websites and blogs, and direct to the wider public via e-reader and news
apps like Flipboard and other digital travel publications.
Our feed does not republish or scrape your content - it simply links straight to
your site, sending new traffic and audiences directly to the original source.
