Funded as part of an Independent Study initiative, responsible for performing biogeochemical analysis examining the causal agents that
explain bryophytepresenceor absence in vernal pools of the Valley and Ridge and Appalachian Plateau Provinces.
Duties include creating new vegetation sample plots, monitoring sample plots and making observations, creating and maintaining
records of samples, collecting, preparing and processing field samples, analyzing samples to determine how patterns of bryophyte
species richness and abundance vary, as well as how they correlate to nutrient gradients.
Tower Six Consulting, LLC May 2013 – Present
Biological Research Analyst—State College, PA
Conducted supervised in-depth interviews with the Chief Science Officer of a start-up company over several months to
determine the best market entry strategy for their new technology.
Developed the chemical mass balance analysis in Excel to support a competitive cost study for a client who seeks to
commercialize glycolic acid from wasteCO2.
Supported market feasibility studies for specialty and fine chemical segments, including glyoxylic acid, cyanoacetic acid, acetic
acid, formic acid, sodium acetate, and ethylacetate.
Identified the main producers of the above chemicals, summarized supply and demand data, and framed up the key issues
related to downstream applications.
Outlined in Microsoft Office and Powerpoint the technical issues surrounding a new fuel cell for unmanned underwater vehicles
(UUVs) for military use. This work supported thescope-of-work portion of a proposalto a potentialnew client.
