Mathys Johannes Nicolaas Nortje completed his N3 national diploma in 1992 and qualified as a Millwright in 1995 in South Africa. He has over 18 years of experience as a Millwright working in factories and mines, gaining expertise in maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. He is currently employed as a Technical Instructor in Electrical Power Cables at the Baish campus of Saudi Electrical Services Polytechnic in Saudi Arabia.

NTC (N3) National Diploma; Qualified Millwright (Electrical &Mechanical)
Mathys completed his N3 national diploma at Witbank Technical College South Africa in
1992 and thereafter qualified as a Millwright at Sappi Kraft Ngodwana, South Africa in 1995.
He worked in various disciplines ranging from the factory to the mining industries as a
Millwright where he gained extensive knowledge in maintenance, repairs and fault finding
of all electrical equipment ranging from 33kv down to 220v concerning all electrical
equipment from transformers,substations,all cable work involving
switchgear,ups”s,variable speed drives,motors,generators,switching,plc”s,overhead cranes,
delta transformer furnaces and all electrical protection equipment.
He has extensive experience, firstly as a health and safety rep and furthermore gained
extensive knowledge in health and safety management and quality control,contractor
management and all HSEC (Health,Safety and Environmental Control) management.
He also has extensive knowledge in mechanical equipment regarding maintenance, repairs
and fault finding of various range of pumps,bearings,conveyor
systems,compressors,hydraulics,pneumatics,valves etc. including welding, rigging and
lathes.
He has 18 years Millwright experience & 2 years senior electrical coordinator experience
which also involves training of Millwright apprentices as well as training of artisans
theoretical, practical & on the job.
He is currently employed by Saudi Electrical Services Polytechnic or (SESP) at the Baish
campus in Saudi Arabia as a Technical Instructor in Electrical Power Cables.(EPC)
