address or property on the territory of the USA. The system should return the
results of various natural hazards and man-made risks for every property.
The system should:
● Run on Big Data, using the complex algorithms to calculate the
level of risks and hazards
● Have a Freemium model
● Geocode any given US-based address
● Have a robust API to deliver data to other platforms and services
● Have a batch processor which is capable to run and check
thousands of addresses
The solution
● The combination of Ruby on Rails application and PostgreSQL +
PostGIS databases helped us to create an easy-to-maintain
platform which processes the Big Data smoothly
● Integrated third-party services let us perform geocoding, receive
the coordinates' elevation and distances and obtain the property
information
