3. ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE IN HIM
Coordinate program content in line with CAHIIM accreditation standards. Responsible for
both the Associate of Applied Science Degree Program and Medical Coding Certificate
Program; coordinate these two programs with three adjunct personnel and two full time
instructors who teach to a diverse student body. Perform student advising for those
students entering the program, maintain acceptance list, and perform all administrative
duties for the HIM Program. Function as educator and assume 10-12 contact hours per
week, per semester. Market the program to potential clientele. Possess instructional
experience in both face-to-face and online modalities through the use of the ANGEL
Learning Management System. This instructional experience includes ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-
PCS, Quality Management, Healthcare Statistics, Supervision Concepts, and Alternative
Records.
HIM EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SETS
•Working knowledge of chart analysis, chart order, documentation improvement,
physician deficiency reporting and completion, master patient index, image capture and
scanning, and CPSI Accounting System.
•Working knowledge and experience in ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding. Software utilized
includes 3-M Encoder, Quadramed, and Chartmaxx electronic medical record software.
•Coding Discipline Experience: ER and Registration Outpatient/Ancillary Services; ER
procedure coding; Women’s Clinic; Outpatient labs and Radiology; DNFB account
management.
•Working knowledge and experience in medical transcription via Dolbey Fusion.
Transcription Disciplines: H&Ps, discharge summaries, progress notes, ERs, Psychiatry,
