“But there’s a problem”, the
doctor said.
“We’ll have to run some tests”.
We’ll have to wait.
3. Fear gripped me. Three days I’d
have to wait.
“What am I going to do?”
Pray, just pray. But would He
answer my prayers?
Yet, there was nothing else I could
do.
4. I had heard of St. Theresa, the
“Little Flower of Jesus”.
She said she’d spend her time in
heaven doing good on earth.
She’d left fall a “shower of roses”
A sign that she had heard. A sign
that God had too.
5. Maybe she’d help me.
So I said a quiet prayer .
“Please ask God to let my baby
live,
and if it be a girl, part of her name
would be after you”
6. I got a card a day later, a
bouquet of roses on the front.
I knew right then and there, that
the baby would be alright.
Now I had one more thing, one
thing that I had desired all my
life.
7. Could I, should I dare ask another
favor?
Had I asked to much already?
Yet, I had to try.
“Would you, could you, please let
me have a little girl?”.

Would my prayer be answered?
“The heartbeat is not that of a girl”
the nurse said.

me.
“O please, please, don’t let this
be true”.
“Please let it be my girl”.
