I. THE HUMAN TRUTH
 We ought to consider this a confession.
 A first step in learning to stand and be counted while
giving the glory to Christ and not self is to freely
admit, you really would like some of that praise to
land on you.
 Knowing our desire to receive glory – to brag or
boast on self, we openly confess it so as to deflect it
back to God.

II. THE HOLY CHOICE
 · When the person you speak with will not receive it as truth
 · When your authority in the matter or on these circumstances might
be in question
 · When, though you know the truth, you are not able to support the
truth with hard evidence
 · When speaking the truth would tend to puff you up in the sight of
others
In those cases, and others, it would be best to forebear speaking the truth.

III. THE HONEST REASON
 The Apostle said he wanted people to believe what was
authentic and genuine about him.
 We ought always to be growing, confessing our sins and
putting off the deeds of the flesh.
 It just means that we don’t try to be something we aren’t so
that people think of us above what they ought to and thereby
we receive glory that belongs only to the Lord.
