1. REVIVAL
September 15, 2013
3PM
Come join the Choir of All Saints Roman Catholic Church for a service of Musical worship in
celebration of the salvation we have received in Christ. Come immerse yourself in the sounds of the
All Saints Gospel Choir. This is the inaugural concert of Martin Petioni as director of music for All
Saints church. Martin has served as Contemporary ensemble director for St Lucy’s Church in the
Bronx from 1992 through 2010. He is also a senior member of The TreasureHouse Chorale in
Westchester. He now returns home to the church where he made his first communion in May 1972.
All Saints Gospel Choir was rebuilt by Fr. Jude Nwchukwu during his 2 years of service in the parish
of All Saints. He was often heard to say “The Choir is the ministry closest to the heart of the priest.”
He worked tirelessly to make sure that the Choir was founded in sound pastoral and liturgical
principles and centered in the Eucharist.
All Saints Gospel choir includes the voices of Gloria Philip, Tricia Callender, Veronica Julius and
Raymonde Duterlien, who mesh their musical heritage from Granada, Trinidad, Nigeria and Haiti.
Beautiful, powerful and essential contributions are made by New York born African-American
singers Norma Francis and Pamela Best. A deep bass voice is provided by Francesco Frova, who
grew up in Italy, singing in his local church and school choir, playing piano and guitar. He further
refined his talents in Spain singing and playing Djambe drum, before joining the Saints in Harlem.
You will certainly be captured by the amazing talent of the piano player, Gaston Seraphine
Amougou ("Gasá"), a self-made musician from Cameroon who made his debut as a young child,
sneaking to the drums of a local band during a performance. He found himself contracted by the
band after his performance. His amazing talent and love of music brought him proficiency in guitar,
drums and keyboard. His music while prayerful has a strong blues and jazz influence which will
have you singing along and tapping your feet.
Come join us for this lively service of music and prayer on September 15. Your heart will sing!
