1 Introduction
1.1 Purpose
This guide contains information that will help the receiver take advantage of On-Demand Delivery
(ODD). ODD will notify you of the Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) as well as provide delivery options
in advance of delivery. ODD will also permit you to send requests to change your delivery options in
the following criteria indicated by buttons on the ODD website:
Schedule Your Delivery – The receiver can request to change the delivery date of your
shipment if the scheduled date is not convenient.
Signature Release – The receiver can pre-authorize the delivery of your shipment to allow
the courier to leave your shipment at the door in your absence.
Leave Your Signature – The receiver can print out a hardcopy of the sign-for-your-shipment
form, sign it, and leave outside the door for the courier to arrive and leave the shipment.
Leave with Neighbour – The receiver can request the courier to leave the shipment with an
immediate neighbour.
Service Point Delivery – The receiver can request to have your shipment delivered to a DHL
certified service point if you choose to pick up your shipment rather than have it delivered to
you.
Deliver to Alternate Address – The receiver can request to change the delivery address if
the address you originally provided is not convenient at the time of delivery.
Vacation Hold – The receiver can request to hold the delivery of your shipment for up to
thirty days.
Note: Options will sometimes be unavailable depending on various criteria. For example, the shipper
may not wish DHL to offer it or DHL may not have the capability at the destination country.
In short, ODD will make it convenient for you to receive your shipment by allowing you more control of
the delivery of your shipments.
