2. Every school day 7,000 teens become
high school drop outs
Every school day 1,000 teens learn from
choices why they should stay in school
We Have a growing national crisis on our hands in this country
among our teens, 26% of students are failing to graduate on time.
3. According to the National Center For Educations,
If a youth becomes a dropout this is what they’re headed for.
They are the most likely to be…
Unemployed
Pre-Teen Mom & Dads
Drug & Alcohol Abusers
Homeless
Jail & Prison Mates
6. The importance of a male
figure present in a child’s life
Research shows an increase of the national graduation rate when
a child, youth or teen has an active male model in their life
There is an increase in a child, youth or teen mental, physical and
emotional growth with an active male model in their life
7. The down side is not so pretty,
it’s just down right ugly
Without fathers or men present, then we have an issue that arises
63% of all youth suicides, come from fatherless homes
90% of all homeless and runaway children, come from fatherless homes
85% of all children who show behavior problems or disorders come from fatherless homes
71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes, 14 times the national average

with a child, youth or teen
looks really good
Children with men involved are
40% less likely to repeat a grade
70% less likely to drop out of school
9.
10. How do we fix the problem?
We need solutions and not excuses!
11. 1. Let’s Establish A Base- we can all start by just getting involved with one kid
building a trusting relationship at a time, we don’t need youth programs to do this
2. Start by identify who they are- Ask questions to let them talk and you just
listen, building around what they value, what they believe in and want in life.
3. Form a community around them- Find out what they expect from you and others
and let them lead the charge, the NFL does this with quarterbacks all the time
12. Don’t be scared to go there.
if they trust you they will let you in
Don’t Shy, Ask Real Questions-
What does community mean to you
What is sexuality
What are your goals
What are examples of good decision making
Define gender roles and stereotypes
How to keep violence out your life
Define a healthy way of living
What reduces sexual risk
How to get prepared for your life, are you prepared
13. Columbia University Research Found
Teens with a male present at home but the relationship is poor are 68%
more likely to smoke, drink and use drugs
They found that 70% of youth in state operated institutions come from a
poor father to son relationship or a absentee male involved in their life at all
And that’s 9x the national average
80% of all youth in prison come from a poor relationship with their fathers,
and that’s 20x the national average
14. “it’s important that we become not just men but
mentors to the fatherless and brokenhearted a father
who has a good relationship with the mother of their
children is more likely to be involved and spend time
with their children and have children who are more
psychologically and emotionally healthier”
15. So what’s a man to
do in such a busy world?
Brace yourself!
16. Embrace The Responsibility
Embrace the fact that it is our Duty #1 as a Man to Replace the men who decided or not
decided, to be around in a child’s life, own up to that and accept it, it’s now our role
#2 it is our job as a community to raise men, because if we don’t who do we leave that up to,
the mothers, the television, politicians, or would you rather have state ran institutions raise
them with no real values, then let them loose back into a society that hasn’t forgiving them.
#3 When God created you a man, he didn’t ask you to see how you would feel,
God created us men, Men; because he knew that we would be able to handle life in the order
he predestined.
#4 once you become a Man, You are a Father, You are a father everywhere you go, it’s our job
to maintain order in every role in life we play, in every situation, we become fathers to the
fatherless, in a situation where a man would have to step up in any child’s life for any giving
thing.
17. Study after study show that children
consistently say, they wish they had
more time with their dads.
