At their annual meeting in August, the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Maine (HBRA) elected new officers, including Mark W. Auld as the new Vice President for the State of Maine. Mark is excited about enhancing the quality and integrity of Maine builders and remodelers as well as increasing membership in the organization and among young people entering related fields. He also wants to encourage entrepreneurship and business marketing skills for high school students through HBRA programs. Mark believes his certifications in green building and remodeling, earned through continuing education, will help him make a positive impact in these areas.

Mark W. Auld becomes State Vice President
Home Builder & Remodelers Association of Maine announces new Officers
Kennebunkport, ME: At their annual meeting in August, the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of
Maine (HBRA), elected new officers with Mark W. Auld voted in as the new Vice President for the State
of Maine. The HBRA is a member of the National Association of Home Builders, an organization
dedicated to “building communities” and “promoting policies that encourage the production of quality
housing”… We stand for a safe workplace, cost-effective rules and regulations and sustainable
construction practices.”
Mark is excited about this new position and states, “I have always been interested in the quality and
integrity of our Maine builders/remodelers and enhancing our image in the State. I also look forward to
the challenge of increasing membership, both in this organization and in the young people entering
building/remodeling and the related businesses.
I will work to encourage the builders in our communities to join our organization for the support,
networking and job opportunities we can offer them locally and at the State level with regard to issues
that come to the table in Augusta.
I am also excited about the possibility of enhancing existing programs for High School students. These
valuable programs teach the necessary skills in building, design and maintenance. I would like to see
classes that address how to be an entrepreneur and how to market your business. These young people
need that extra insight and confidence in order to start a business, hang in there with it during the tough
times and market their brand and themselves in order to enhance their professional image in the
community. I feel as though I can make a difference in this way due to the educational opportunities I
have taken advantage of over the last twenty years. My certifications in Certified Green Professional
(CGP) and Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) were earned through believing that continuing education
is critical to both good business practices and a professional image. I am proud to say that Auld Building
Company is celebrating its twentieth year and I am looking forward to many more, in addition to sharing
my knowledge in a way that strengthens the HBRA organization and our colleagues.”
