Chair Message
I delighted with Capstone Management Consulting. The mission of the Edwards
School of Business is to “develop professionals to build nations.” Through rolling up
their sleeves, working with actual clients in
real-life settings, and being responsible for
professional-quality reports, our students are
making remarkable strides in their education.
We are very grateful to the clients for
supporting our efforts and providing such
interesting projects.
In addition to the pride we take in our
students’ performance, and the partnerships
that have developed with various client
enterprises, I should say that we are
extremely fortunate to have an award-
winning professor, Vince Bruni-Bossio. He received the highly-coveted USSU teaching
award this year for the quality he brings to all his interactions with students. Through
this course and the Capstone experience, Vince has been recognized for extraordinary
teaching and a learning environment that is deeply appreciated by his students.

  2
Capstone Management Consulting is doing truly wonderful thing for raising the stature
and value of the Management major, by showcasing the quality of our students, and by
raising funds for scholarships and support of the project-based style of teaching.
Thank you to the students who fund other students!
I thank Vince Bruni-Bossio and Department Head Marvin Painter for supporting this
course.
Each year, I am gratified by the talents of the CEOs of Capstone and their board of
volunteers. It has been a pleasure working with Rayleine Seymour, and I look forward
to working with Colby McClelland.
Well done!

Message from the CEO
The Management Students’ Association (MSA) and
Capstone Management Consulting, realizes the
value and the opportunity that COMM 448 provides
both students & organizations. With a decision to
support the goals and initiatives of COMM 448,
Capstone Management Consulting helps to create
an environment of excellence that provides
business students with a tangible bridge between
the classroom and the boardroom.
This year, Capstone Management Consulting has commissioned 12 projects for
COMM 448, with a total 25 students in the class. We are very excited to help bring
Edwards School of Business experiential and applied projects that engage students to
use their skills beyond the classroom. The MSA hopes to be an accountable
connection with local communities to create positive future relationships and open
opportunities for students for future employment. We are also happy to reward
students with a scholarship for excellent service that improves recognition of Edwards
School of Business in the community.
This year for our annual gala we decided to partnership with the Governance and
Leadership Development Practicum course at Edwards School of Business. By

  4
partnering with this organization, we will bring more community based organizations to
the event, to aid us with our goal to create an accountable connection with local
communities.
After this year I will be passing the reigns over to Colby McClelland, who will become
the new Management Students’ Association President and CEO of Capstone
Management Consulting. In the future, beginning 2016, the Marketing Students’
Society will have Synergy Consulting and join with Capstone to expand COMM 448.
This expansion will make it viable for both terms of the school year, instead of only in
second term. We are very excited for this development and see it as an approach to
work with other student associations at Edwards School of Business, as well as
integrate into the community.
In closing, I would like to thank Dean Taras for allowing us to develop Capstone
Management Consulting with Edwards School of Business, as well as Vince Bruni-
Bossio and Marv Painter for making this class possible. I would also like to thank all
the community organizations and businesses that have supported us to make this
organization successful.
Sincerely,
Rayleine Seymour

Capstone Management Consulting - Company Overview
Capstone Management Consulting was founded in 2012 by Toni-Lynn Beckman and is
a cooperative venture in partnership with the Edwards School of Business and the
Management Students' Association. It has been organized to promote an environment

classroom and the boardroom. At the conclusion of each COMM 448 session, a panel
of judges selects the most outstanding consulting reports and awards scholarships of
$2,500, $1,500 or $1,000 to the top three consulting groups for outstanding
achievement.
The Experience

profit organizations with the chance to attain applied research and management
consulting at a reasonable cost while also providing Edwards' students with hands-on
experience in creating functional consulting projects for business and service
organizations. The vision of Capstone Management Consulting is to create an
environment of excellence that provides business students with a tangible bridge

Capstone Management Consulting - Selected Testimonials

“The most useful class
I have taken in my undergrad.
Period.”
-Regan McGrath
COMM 448 Management Consulting allowed me to experience real life hands-on
consulting while I was still a student. I feel like I have gained so much knowledge in terms
of all the different approaches for consulting and how to tackle challenges that came
throughout the process. This course made me realize that consulting is what I want to
pursue when I am done my degree.”
-Anna Mosolov
“The most challenging yet rewarding experience of my University career.”
-Riley Sittler
“COMM 448 has been one of the highlights of my final year in the Edwards School of
Business. It has provided me with the courage and confidence to move from the education
system to the workforce. I had the opportunity to work with a non-profit organization in
Saskatoon that taught me how to solve problems in unique and creative ways. I am
grateful for everything I have learned with this class and discovered a new interest in non-
profit organizations for future employment.”
- Diana Bourque
“This was a great class to take- it really helped bring what we have taken in our classes
into perspective. Vince was very supportive and provided assistance with any questions
that we had. I would recommend students to take this class!”
-Tina Rorquist
“This course is an excellent way to bridge the gap between being a student and working in
the real world. I have been a student for most of my life, and this class gave me the
knowledge and confidence to try my skills in a project that has an actual effect for the
client.”

  • 18.    16 Capstone Management Consulting - Selected Testimonials   “The most useful class I have taken in my undergrad. Period.” -Regan McGrath COMM 448 Management Consulting allowed me to experience real life hands-on consulting while I was still a student. I feel like I have gained so much knowledge in terms of all the different approaches for consulting and how to tackle challenges that came throughout the process. This course made me realize that consulting is what I want to pursue when I am done my degree.” -Anna Mosolov “The most challenging yet rewarding experience of my University career.” -Riley Sittler “COMM 448 has been one of the highlights of my final year in the Edwards School of Business. It has provided me with the courage and confidence to move from the education system to the workforce. I had the opportunity to work with a non-profit organization in Saskatoon that taught me how to solve problems in unique and creative ways. I am grateful for everything I have learned with this class and discovered a new interest in non- profit organizations for future employment.” - Diana Bourque “This was a great class to take- it really helped bring what we have taken in our classes into perspective. Vince was very supportive and provided assistance with any questions that we had. I would recommend students to take this class!” -Tina Rorquist “This course is an excellent way to bridge the gap between being a student and working in the real world. I have been a student for most of my life, and this class gave me the knowledge and confidence to try my skills in a project that has an actual effect for the client.” -Rohit Nundy
