1. Broadcast on the network that your account will go down.
2. Broadcast on the network that someone else's account will go up.
3. As the broadcast is sent, each node updates based on the information
4. Each node then passes it down the network again
5. With some security wrapped around it for verification, this is pretty much how
everything works.

5. Some points to consider
● Everyone knows about everyone's transactions
● While Banks in the Fiat world are the central, and everyone’s history is not
transparent to the world.
● Bitcoin is designed so that no Trust is needed, special math functions exist to
make this happen.

6. How can each node know the request is
authentic?● Nodes require a DIGITAL SIGNATURE to unlock funds. Think of this like the
signature on a paper check.
● A different DIGITAL SIGNATURE is required for every transaction.
● Private Key creates the Signature
● Public Key verifies the Signature
● Private Key is very important to keep hidden (VERY IMPORTANT)
● PUBLIC KEYS are actually the Send To addresses in Bitcoin

8. The math is complex
It uses an elliptic curve digital signature
algorithm, basically it is easy to calculate in
one direction, but practically impossible to
calculate in reverse.

9. So let’s get real about the ledger
1. No totals are stored in the Bitcoin network
2. Everything is based on a tree that is built on previous transactions
3. Your wallet’s total is the value after all transactions
