The twelve week coping skills group for teens ages 13-18 will help participants learn to manage overwhelming emotions that interfere with school and relationships. In the group, teens will learn mindfulness techniques, emotion regulation skills, distress tolerance skills, and interpersonal effectiveness from Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The group aims to teach teens how to stay calm in difficult situations, effectively manage intense emotions, and get along with others. The group costs QR 1100 and will be held at Qipco Library in February/March 2014.

1. COPING SKILLS GROUP FOR TEENS
A twelve week group therapy program for teens (13 –
18 yrs)
Let’s face it: life gives you plenty of reasons to get angry, sad,
scared and frustrated – and those feelings are okay. But
sometimes it can feel as if your emotions are taking over and
spinning out of control. These overwhelming emotions might be
interfering with school and causing trouble in your relationships.
The ‘Don’t Let Your Emotions Run Your Life’ group can help. You
will find new ways of managing your feelings and you will learn
the skills you need to ride the ups and downs of life with
confidence and grace.
Cost: QR 1100 (includes material and snack)
Location: Qipco Library (Qipco Compound West Bay)
