2. ABOUT MCNALLY
Joe McNally said that he has been working on photography for
35 years, he showed us those 35 five years in his photos since
he bought his first camera on 1972.
He said he has been working for National Geographic, but that
demanded him a tremendous amount of responsibility because
he could not fail to the magazine. They rely in the
photographers because they tell visually what is going on
around the world.

6. THE PHOTOGRAPHY
He said that the rule of photographers was that their photos
were their footsteps, they marked their path through life, the
photographer creates history. They showed the world, their
world, to other people.
McNally said that the photography was not just flashes and
lenses, it was a relationship. He said that is needed to know the
person that you were photographing even just a little bit, a
photographer needs a team work, it’s a business of
relationship. And he showed us this on a photo he took 15
years ago about fire man`s work, he said he was still in touch
with some of those men.
8. PHOTOSHOT
After the presentation of his photos they did a photography live
on stage, so he asked people to came on stage to be
photographed. One of the favorites was a guy who was
photogenic, always doing new funny poses. In this photoshot,
he was telling us some advices so we could apply them on our
photos related to the lights, the lenses, and the exposition
time.
10. JOE MCNALLY & MEXICAN
PHOTGRAPHERS
In the last part of McNally`s conference, there was a space of
Q&A. My favorite question was that if he could tell us what he
thought about Mexico`s photography field nowadays. Some
important points of Joe`s answer at this question were:
He said he had been doing a lot of Works in Mexico, specially
in Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende
He was always impressed for the amount of energy, creativity
and good will of the Mexican photographers
He thought that the photography community in Mexico was
growing
He said he was not the future, we are!
