JoeMcNally in Mexico-presentation
1.
2. Joe McNally is an internationally
acclaimed photographer whose
career has spanned more than 35
years and included assignments in
60 countries.McNally won the
first Alfred Eisenstaedt Award for
Journalistic Impact for a LIFE
coverage titled, “The Panorama of
War.” He has been honored

3. The last Saturday JoeMcNally came to Mexico to
show us some aspects of his work and to talk about
the use of the light.
He talked about many ways to use lights in a set of
photography and he told us how we can take
advantage of lights in every place, for example, he
had taken many photos in the auditorium in the
moment and he explained all what he was doing.
!
4. He also said that the photographs were like your own
steps, so you showed every step in your life through
your photos. I think everyone can take a photo but
there are few people who can make a real photo.
5. He said that our eyes were made to see light, not the dark. So, it’s important, if we want to
reflect our reality in one photo, not to forget about light and the language of comunication.
6.
7. He showed us that other
photographers had said the
camera likes gray, that the
camera likes medium
tonalities. In portrait, he told
us about shadows, he said
that shadows were very
important and they could
help us to show emotions
and feelings in a face.
8. The End
The conference was incredible, he is
very funny and a really kind person.
All thinkings in his mind most be very
interesting, I think that everybody in
the conference has more knowledge
and ideas about photography now.
