Meetings are problematic for several reasons: they take up employees' time that could otherwise be spent doing actual work, lowering productivity; sitting in boring, irrelevant meetings has a negative effect on employee morale and reduces creativity; and meetings are a high cost since they use the time of multiple employees simultaneously but often provide low returns on that investment of time.
