2. CHRIS MILK Chris Milks work as a music director has inspired me for the ideas of the making of my music video for my chosen band 'Glory Glory'. Chris milk has produced videos for artist such as 'Kanye West', and 'Gnarls Barkley' which even though are more towards the Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul genres of music, i like the way in which narative plays a important roll within the videos in different aspects and features. Milk cleverly uses techniques that make the viewer feel as thought that they are actually there, there and then in the narrative of the music video. He cleverly define similarities and differences for the artist work and also put in the artist trade mark if they have one within the video.
3. 'Kanye West' has made a few video's with Chris Milk which are titled, 'All Falls Down' and 'Touch The Sky'. The narrative is a key essential in 'All Falls Down' as we see through 'Kanye West' eyes as to his life going through the rigmarole of a busy life and having a girl going through the different checkouts and security points in a airport CHRIS MILK < These screen shots show part of the video that represent milks work portraying Kanye West in a different light. Instead of having the attention all on him it is more on what he is doing in his eyes so that the target audience can see and feel his emotions and understand as to the way he reacts as a person and not just as a role model as though we were watching the narrative like a soap opera.
4. CHRIS MILK < This is the only time that the artist performs to the screen but still it is not in the normal traditional ways of the performance, instead it goes along with the narrative which is him having to actually got through customs being scanned in the machine which is normally used to check items for drugs and weapons via X-ray. There for we see Kanye’s X-ray.
5. CHRIS MILK Gnarls Barkly video was directed by Chris Milk. The video does not so much concentrate on the lyrics of the song apart from the chorus. Again the narrative plays a key roll in the video about a guy and girl in a dinner, and the guy listening to the girl put him down gently saying that this relationship is not going to work. The guy totally blanks out and goes into his own world were he rips open his flesh with a knife and pulls out his heart and places it on a plate towards his so called current partner. The effects of the heart is CGI which shows a clear flowing animation. Gnarls lips are a feature of representation of him in this video as he is only features physically in the video about two times.
6. CHRIS MILK <The trade mark of Gnarls Barklys lips on the heart is portrayed greater as a representation then him then his physically in the music video. He is only show psychically about two time in the whole video. < The end of the music video the narrative twists and goes from the same frame position of the guy from his imagination to his reality sitting info runt of the girl who is breaking his heart….hence the CGI imagery.
7. CHRIS MILK Chris Milks work has inspired me for the ideas of narrative for my band ‘Glory Glory’ as I could really produce creative ideas for the tracks song theme which is ADHD. Therefore I could use CGI imagery and people/ characters different perspectives.
