1. Objective
Obtain a term position as a Quality Technical Specialist position in Anatomical Pathology.
Experience
The last twenty-six years I worked in Anatomical Pathology. The last five years I worked as
a Technical Specialist in the Routine area of Anatomical Pathology.
Experienced with instrument troubleshooting and Quality Assurance and Safety of the
following systems:
• Tissue-Tek VIP5
• CBG Recyclers
• Symphony Stainers
• Leica Florescent Microscope
• JEOL 1200 Transmission Electron Microscope
• Experience in Request For Proposal Work toward a new Electron Microscope and
Laboratory.
Experience with troubleshooting and procedures in dealing with Quality Assurance (QA)
issues in the Routine Laboratory, Immunopathology and Electron Microscopy Laboratory.
Skills include troubleshooting as well as skilled in the processing and cutting of blocks for
electron microscope and light microscopy evaluations.
Previous experience in Immunohistochemistry and Special Stains. During my training
period 12 years ago, we were making the transition from bench level to automated
methods. I am well versed in the theory of Immunohistochemistry, Immunopathology and
Electron Microscopy.
Over the past five years, I developed the skill to interpret the technical acceptability of test
results from both automated and manual bench work.
Performed method evaluations and developed new procedures for both staff and
instrument evaluation. Mastery of CERNER Millennium Laboratory Information System
(LIS). I have demonstrated supervisory skills and administrative responsibilities when
dealing with staff and instrument troubleshooting situations.
2. Participated in the evaluation and selection process of the Vantage Bar-Coding System for
histology specimens. Member of a Quality Review process.
Skills
Experienced in the use of desktop office suite software including: Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, LibreOffice Write, LibreOffice Present, LibreOffice
Calc, Microsoft Outlook, Snag-It, and the Microsoft Windows based operating system
environment.
Proficient in the following laboratory management and productivity software: Paradigm
Document Management Software, CERNER Millennium Laboratory Information System
(LIS), and Vantage software.
Proficient in writing Standard Operating Procedures. Demonstrated customer service,
organizational, verbal and written skills, and technical skills. Proficient in staff workload
management and competency testing. Comfortable dealing with the public and other
health care professionals either by phone or in person.
