This document discusses renewing the mind and guarding the "gateways" or portals of the soul, which are described as conscience, reason, imagination, mind, emotions, choice, and will. It provides biblical references about having a renewed spirit and mind. Definitions are given for these concepts from dictionaries and encyclopedias. Robert Plutchik's wheel of emotions is discussed as it relates to how basic emotions combine to form new secondary emotions. The importance of placing Jesus as the gatekeeper of the soul's portals is emphasized so that evil thoughts cannot enter and one can naturally follow Christ. The document concludes with a call to prayer to repent of allowing demonic activity through the portals and to wipe them clean by

• He is the one that brings revival in them and keeps with the process
of transformation and who finishes the work on transforming the
mind of man

gotquestions.org
• Is defined as that part of the human psyche that induces
mental anguish and feelings of guilt when we violate it and
feelings of pleasure and well-being when our actions,
thoughts and words are in conformity to our value systems.
• The conscience reacts when one’s actions, thoughts, and
words conform to, or are contrary to, a standard of right
and wrong.
14. NEW TESTAMENT VIEW
OF CONSCIENCE
• First, conscience is a God-given capacity for human beings to exercise
self-evaluation. Paul refers several times to his own conscience being
“good” or “clear” (Acts 23:1; 24:16; 1 Corinthians 4:4).
• Second, the NewTestament portrays the conscience as a witness to
something. Paul says the Gentiles have consciences that bear witness
to the presence of the law of God written on their hearts, even
though they did not have the Mosaic Law (Romans 2:14-15).
• Third, the conscience is a servant of the individual’s value system. An
immature or weak value system produces a weak conscience, while a
fully informed value system produces a strong sense of right and
wrong.
15. A Seared conscience
• Another reference to conscience in the NewTestament is to
a conscience that is “seared” or rendered insensitive as
though it had been cauterized with a hot iron (1Timothy
4:1-2).
• Such a conscience is hardened and calloused, no longer
feeling anything. A person with a seared conscience no
longer listens to its promptings, and he can sin with
abandon, delude himself into thinking all is well with his
soul, and treat others insensitively and without
compassion.
16. Maturing in the faith
strengthens the conscience.
• In the Christian life, one’s conscience can be driven by an
inadequate understanding of scriptural truths and can
produce feelings of guilt and shame disproportionate to the
issues at hand.
• As Christians, we are to keep our consciences clear by
obeying God and keeping our relationship with Him in good
standing. We do this by the application of His Word,
renewing and softening our hearts continually. We consider
those whose consciences are weak, treating them with
Christian love and compassion.

things, establishing and verifying facts, applying logic, and
adapting or justifying practices, institutions,
and beliefs based on new or existing information.[1]
19. IMAGINATION
Cambridge Dictionary

23. WILL
Wikipedia Encyclopedia
• Will, generally, is the faculty of the mind that selects, at the moment
of decision, a desire among the various desires present; it itself does
not refer to any particular desire, but rather to the mechanism
responsible for choosing from among one's desires.
Within philosophy, will is important as one of the parts of the mind,
along with reason and understanding. It is considered central to the
field of ethics because of its role in enabling deliberate action.
25. • Randomly I have selected the works of Robert Plutchik, an American
Psychologist to discuss something about the importance of
emotions.
• Let’s remember that emotions bring chemical changes in different
parts of our organisms.
• This will affect our organism in a positive or negative way, depending
on the type and intensity of our emotions.
• Let’s have a quick look unto them.

31. Possessing the portals of the soul
•Taking possession of each one of those 7
gateways, washing them with the precious
blood of the Lamb, and placing Christ in the
centre of them as the Gate Keeper, will help us
to keep our minds in continuous renewal
32. John 10:3-16 (NIV)
• 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep
listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and
leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he
goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because
they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a
stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because
they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this
figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand
what he was telling them.
33. • 7 ThereforeJesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the
gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are
thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to
them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be
saved.[a]They will come in and go out, and find
pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and
destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it
to the full.
34. • 11 “I am the good shepherd.The good shepherd lays down
his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the
shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees
the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs
away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters
it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and
cares nothing for the sheep.
35. • 14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my
sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I
know the Father—and I lay down my life for the
sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep
pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my
voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
36. When Jesus comes
knocking at the
gate of your
imagination, and
the gates of your
soul, will you
opened for Him to
enter?

the gates of your
soul will not
allow evil
thoughts to
come in
38. When Jesus is your Shepherd;
your conscience, reason,
imagination, mind, emotions,
choice and will, will naturally
follow him because they know
His voice!
Your soul will be as a sheep
following His Pastor,
following His voice.
39. Prayer time
• Pray for the gateways, especially conscience and emotions.
• We need to repent for allowing demonic activity to access to the
gateways of our soul.
• We need to sincerely recognize our sin and take responsibility for not
guarding the gate.
