To Whom It May Concern:
I am excitedtorecommend Mandeep Saharanasa viable candidate foremployment. Mr.Saharan is
everythingthatencompassesourSDCCphilosophy. He exudeshardworkanddiligence inthe academic
fieldbothonandoff the court. In my seventeenyearsof CoachingI have hadveryfew people likeAndy
that bringa Godlyattitude, service orientedcharacteranda humble approachtolife. We take our
commitmenttothe kid’sdevelopmentasthe highestpriorityof ourschool andprogram. I have alsohad
the delighttowatchhis knowledgeandgrowthof character matters. I wouldlike toshare withyouour
three core goalsif youare to be a part of the basketball program andcommunityhere atSan Diego
Christian.
First, God’s glory is our ultimate priority of this program. 1 Corinthians 10:31 is the
Bible verse that drives everything we do. It says, “So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you
do, do all to the glory of God.” Our goal as coaches of this program is to teach you how to
glorify God on and off the field as a student/athlete and grow in your leadership skills as a
biblical man.
Second, we emphasize a biblical worldview in your academic progress. Our passion is to
see you leave here with a degree to prepare vocationally for God’s calling on your life. Your
academics come before your athletics. Athletics will end some day for all who participate and it
is important to our program that you prepare your mind academically and leave here with a
degree.
Third, you will leave our Institution as a better person, physically, mentally and
spiritually. Our goal is to help those people who God has gifted physically to continue their
professional careers. We also understand we are coaching future mentors that can influence
lives for eternity. Your goal to play professionally may not present itself, but God may be
preparing you to lead and influence others in certain ways through athletics.
We perceive it a privilege from God to aid their development as a biblical man that
lives for the Glory of God, alone. Andy encompasses every quality that help’s direct Men and
Women towards these short and long term goals. I strongly recommend him to anyone that
seeks high character, honor, integrity and wisdom to their program. It is with great privilege
that I write this for Andy Saharan. In His Grace, Tim Cook –Head Men’s Basketball Coach
