1. The Community Counseling Center at
Purdue University Northwest offers
quality, affordable and culturally
competent therapeutic services to
individuals in the community. The newly
established Community Counseling
Center allows graduate candidates of the
CACREP accredited Clinical Mental Health
and School Counseling; and the ICAADA
Addictions counseling programs to utilize
their skills under the supervision and
training of licensed professionals and
faculty. Services adhere to the American
Counseling Association professional
Codes of Ethics and standards of practice.
The Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School
Counseling programs have earned the full-8 year
accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of
Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)

the Schneider Avenue Building.

WHYCOUNSELING?
Many people feel overwhelmed, anxious,
confused or frustrated. The Community
Counseling Center provides a comfortable
environment in which to discuss problems and
possible solutions.
OUR SERVICES
We offer short-term individual counseling for
adults and children.
Issues commonly presented include:
» Anxiety
» Depression
» Grief / loss
» Drug or alcohol
» Identity / sexual orientation
» Trauma survivors
» Coping skills for life events
We are unable to treat individuals
diagnosed with serious psychological
disorders.
Those seeking couples or family counseling
will be referred to:

CONFIDENTIALITY
The information you provide during
counseling is confidential except as required by
law. These exceptions will be explained by your
counselor upon intake and will be identified by
your counselor should any of these situations
arise during your counseling sessions.
CLIENTRIGHTS
ALL CLIENTS HAVE THE RIGHT TO:
» Treatment with respect and dignity
» Information about the counseling process
and the benefits of counseling
» Privacy and confidentiality
» Terminate counseling at any time and/or
request referral to another professional or
agency
FEES
We offer affordable counseling services on a
sliding fee determined by client income. We
accept cash or credit card. We cannot accept
checks.
