To whom it may concern.
I am very pleased to write a reference for Madalina Savoaia, in support of her application
for the job.
I have known her for two years, since she started her degree of BSc Actuarial Sciences at
UEA. Madalina has attended my seminars of Contingencies and Differential Equations
module in Autumn 2015-2016, being one the very good students and showing excellent
numerical skills. Academically Madalina is a hard-working and able student. She is
articulate, well-spoken, able to communicate clearly and seemed to get on well with her
peers.
This year she has worked as Feedback Research Officer in School of Mathematics from
January to June, after applying and being successful at the interview. In her job, Madalina
has contacted students from the various year groups in the School of Mathematics to
discuss which forms of feedback are more effective and has spoken with lecturers to gain
an understanding of the different ways feedback is delivered to students in Mathematics
modules. Together with a colleague, after analysing and reviewing data, she has produced
a 50-page report with recommendations for improvement of the feedback process. Her
work was excellent, showing excellent oral and written communication skills, and a very
advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software.
She was an active member of the Romanian Student society at UEA, organising different
events in the past two years. She was Treasurer of the society, supervising the budget.
As a result of her excellent organisational skills and of the support between her peers, she
was elected President of this society this Spring.
Overall, I highly recommend Madalina Savoaia for a job at your company.
