Aesthetics Properties
3. The beautiful
• Paradigm i (Plato): Beauty is manifestation of God (absolute idea), in concrete objects
and phenomena. (appearance of spirituality)
• Paradigm ii : Life is aesthetically neutral, the source of its beauty is in the soul of man
; beauty is a result of the intentional perception of the object by the subject
(phenomenologist).
• Paradigm iii (Socrates): Beauty appears when the various aspects of life are brought
into co relation with man as the measure of beauty or with his practical needs ,ideal &
ideas of life as it should be (beautiful if it is useful)
• Paradigm iv (French materialists): Beauty is the natural property of objects &
phenomena . (like : without extra or excessive adornment of any object )
• Paradigm v (Soviet aestheticians):
Beauty is a quality of objectively existing phenomena with their natural properties
which have been involved by social production & human activity into the sphere of
man’s interests and acquired a positive value for man as a race. ( Quality as positive
values)
4. The sublime( inspiring or transcendent)
• The infinity and the eternity of the world ,the enormous inner power of the nature and
man, unlimited prospects for the exploration of nature & its humanization –all this is a
manifestation of the sublime as a category of aesthetics.
• The sublime is the objective aesthetics property of objects and phenomena which has
positive value for society but also posses an enormous unexplored potentials
5. The tragic
an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime,
or natural catastrophe.
• The predictability of the tragic in the realm of events was expressed in the transition
from death to resurrection , and the realm of emotions –from grief to joy.
• Tragedy is a philosophical art which poses and solves metaphysical problems of life ,
tries to grasp of meaning and analysis global problems.
• Tragic is always optimistic

6. The comic
• The comic is always the subject of laughter not the object and constitutes objective
social value of a phenomena.
• Humor & Satire are 2 basic forms of comic.
The ugly
• The ugly is the aesthetic characteristic of the objects whose natural properties have a
negative significance for society at the present level of its development but don't
seriously threaten it ,as man is able to control the objects possessing this characteristic.
The base
• The base is the extreme degree of ugly and a high negative quality . It is embodied in
the negative forces which are a menace (threat) to humanity ,as the people has not yet
bent them to their will.
The horrible
• Tragic and horrible are opposite. The tragic is optimistic while the horrible is hopeless
and endless.
