2. Idea
• We decided to use our original idea of Apathy towards the Environment.
• Using mundane tasks we could portray the awful impact we have, including:
chemicals in products, excessive use of packaging, etc.
• During our planning we thought of these ideas:
• We chose 3 and decided to use 3
long shots to portray them.
• By using visuals to convey the
mundane tasks, we thought we
could use the sound to portray the
negative impact.
3. Sound
- Sounds used to build atmosphere such as room background noise
- Looking for sound that contrasted our image but still connected with the
theme.
- Recorded at various locations.
- Sounds that are connected to destructive actions, chemical burning etc.
- Sounds connected to different environments, sounds of running water.
- Voice over to further the themes of the film.
4. Day of Shoot
● Shot 1- Revolving handheld camera from above
- Flashing LEDs
● Shot 2 - Plastic wrapped apple = limited takes
● Shot 3 - Edible fake blood mixed with toothpaste
- Over the shoulder in confined space
● Everyone had individual role and contribution
● Problems Encountered:
- Steady camera on shot 1
- Realistic blood
5. Post ProductionPost Production
● While editing, we first decided to have three long takes with no cuts between
them. However, we quickly decided to use cuts in the second two shoots to
create an almost jarring effect.
● We used Lumetri Color to create a desaturated look to add to the theme of
apathy and to create a dull looking reality for the character to live in.
6. Tutorial Changes
- A voice over was added to the project as the feedback we received indicated
our sound did not properly display the concept, this meant the sound better
matched up to the visuals and could portray the point of the film more
clearly.
- The shots used after the first edit, excluding the long shot, were too long so
were cut down in order to form a better flow and pacing in the film.
