A LAPDANCING club
used by celebrities is
being investigated for
allegedly breaking
strict “no-touching”
rules.
Two dancers are said
to have encouraged
male clients to
grope their breasts
and slap their buttocks
while they writhed
around on their laps.
Westminster Council
is sending inspectors
to the Platinum Lace
Gentleman’s Club in
London’s West End
after viewing footage.
The club’s celebrity
clientele is said to
include many Premier
League footballers.
A teen who suffers
from Tourette’s
syndrome has filmed
himself on a plane
shouting: “Bomb.”
Lewis Nickell got his
brother to shoot the
clip – with the full
knowledge of airline
staff – as part of an
online documentary to
highlight his condition.
Now the video has
been viewed more
than 72,000 times.
Lewis, 17, from
Belfast, said: “Most
people realised that I
had a condition but
where I shouted:
‘Bomb!’ a woman
looked at me – she
was mortified.”
dead wife not
sick enough to
claim benefitsA TERMINALLY-ill patient
was told she was too
healthy to qualify for bene-
fits... on the day she died.
Officials decided Dawn Amos
wasn’t sick enough to receive a
weekly benefit of £55.10 or £82.30
for her personal care.
But on the day the Department for
Work and Pensions wrote to inform
her of their decision, Dawn’s husband
Mick agreed doctors should turn off
her life support machine. Mick, 64,
of Braintree, Essex, said: “It’s disgust-
ing and heartbreaking.
“How ill do you have to be? Our gar-
den is 40 or 50ft and she couldn’t walk
down it without having to sit down.”
Dawn, 67, died as a result of chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease which
affects the lungs.
Two days after her death at Broom-
field Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex,
Mick discovered a letter sent from the
DWP. It had been sent on the day she
died and notified Mrs Amos that
her allowance was being withdrawn
based on “treatment, medication,
symptoms and test results”.
Dawn’s daughter Karina, 42, said
her mum had received attendance
allowance for six months before
officials asked doctors for a reassess-
ment. She said: “Obviously she was ill
enough for the benefit because we had
to watch her die.
“Mum couldn’t get up the stairs, had
problems breathing and it took three
hours for her to get ready. I used to see
her every day because she
needed help.
“She could not even leave
the house.”
A spokesman for the
DWP said: “Our thoughts
are with the family of
Mrs Amos.
“The decision was based
on evidence which included
the opinion of Mrs Amos’s
own GP.”
