• BSC (Bordereau de Suivi de Cargaisonis) is a mandatory loading document for
all shipments to Niger. It is also known as CTN and BESC.

• What is Bill of Lading?
• Bill of lading (BL) is a legal document between the shipper of freight and the
carrier. BL contains details such as type, quantity, destination, terms and the
timeline of the shipment being carried.
• A BL also serves as a receipt of goods on board, evidence of contact of carriage
and document of title to the goods.
• The BL is issued by the carrier when the goods are loaded onto a vessel for
international transit.

6. • Do I need the hard-copy of the certificate?
• No. The hard-copy of the certificate is mandatory just for Angola.
• Do I need to get BSC if shipment is in transit through Benin to
Niger?
• A shipment to Niger in transit through Benin need to get two separate
certificates, Benin BESC and Niger BSC certificate.
• Is it mandatory to mention Niger BSC number on Bill of Lading?
• Yes. Niger BSC validation process is split into two parts. First, the certificate gets
pre-validated, where the shipper is provided with the BSC number. Then we
require Original Bill of Lading copy with the BSC number so we can validate the
certificate.
