1. Today many children see the devastation of violence, hunger, homelessness, and many other ills in their community.
According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in a 2014 Annual Homeless Assessment Re-
port, 194,302 youth and children were homeless on a single night in 2014. Also the National Alliance to End Homeless-
ness states 550,000 youth and young adults up to age 24 has experienced a homelessness episode of longer than one
week. Approximately 380,000 of those youth are under the age of 18. Additionally more than 1 in 5 children are at risk of
hunger. Among African-Americans and Latinos, it’s 1 in 3. Love Lives Foundation’s Lead with Love is dedicated to
bringing a hope to youth affected by these circumstances.

Lead with Love started by Jayda Atkinson, founder of Love Lives Foundation, a
once troubled youth herself who recognized a need for focused programs
targeting at risk youth. The Lead with Love program includes leadership
development through mentorship aiming at uncovering passion and talent in the
young participants. There is a focus in the area of entrepreneurship and
community service.
Lead with Love encourages and motivates participants to tap into their purpose; this is
accomplished through guided sessions, guest speakers and field trips to various busi-
nesses and community service programs in the community, all the while creating a safe
haven and hot meals for school aged children while on break.
The Lead with Love experience is bridging the gap between academic school time and in
between breaks. By focusing on leadership, self -love, entrepreneurship and community
service participating teens will benefit tremendously in building confidence and vital life
skills. Lead with Love’s mission is to transform the school to prison pipeline, lowering
teen pregnancies and create more high school graduates who will go one to be productive
citizens. Love Lives Foundation’s Lead with Love is building a better future for our future
leaders with love.
