Marketing mix
The marketing mix is a crucial tool to help understand what the product or service can offer and
how to plan for a successful product offering. The marketing mix is most commonly executed
through the 4 P’s of marketing Price, Product, Promotion, and Place.
The four P’s
The four Ps are the categories involved in the marketing of a good or service, and they include
product, price, place and promotion. These all are apart of the marketing mix and all involve the
basic factors of marketing.
Product
Product is the good or services offered by a company to its customers. Also during this
semester i’ve been the product and i have been trying to sell myself to a business, that would
best fit me.
Price
Price is how much the product will cost. This is important because the price of your
product will determine how much money you could make. Also, the price is important because
this will be a heavy factor in how many people will buy your product.
Promotion
Promotion could be the deciding factor between someone choosing your brand and a
competitor. Promotion can also include having someone famous endorsing your products. This
could include athletes famous actors or even politicians. Lastly, different discount people run of
items is part of the promotion. Some examples are buying one get one free, and buy one gets
one half off.
Place
Place connects with the product because you need to know where to sells your product or
service. The correlation between product, place, and promotion, affect each other a lot.
Social media
Social media is a way to engage to a large audience and have a lot of promotion without using as much
money, as you would have to without it. This tool increases engagement in companies by more than a
100%.
Fun facts about the internet
● In 2016 the did a census and found 196 million people use the internet daily
● The total number of people who use YouTube – 1,300,000,000. 300 hours of video are uploaded to
YouTube every minute! Almost 5 billion videos are watched on Youtube every single day.
● over 3.5 billion searches per day
● Instagram, the mobile photo sharing network had reached 500 million daily active users
● Facebook
● More than one billion people are active on Facebook
This is all to show there is a huge market online and it's easy to have a successful business with just a
small portion of those numbers
