3. summary
The idea of the article was to bring to our attention how prisons and punishment
has become a tool for big business. Corporations have taken over prisons as
major stakeholders because profit off things such as commissary and phone
calls. Often money is made from such crimes that should not even be a crime
such as self-defense. Marissa Alexander was charged with several crimes for
firing a shot in the air , that hit no one to avoid the abuse she was receiving from
her estranged husband. She was incarcerated and made to pay legal fees for a
victimless crime .
4. Point or Demand of Agenda
The point of the agenda is to create awareness of a problem. The highest crime
is said to be those in poverty, and we must ask ourselves why. But to target
those who are poor to benefit from their punishment and make them ultimately
pay legal fees for crimes that others wouldn’t be considered criminal. Such as
public intoxication ,traffic offenses, or jay walking.

I researched this problem and found that another target for big business has
been immigrants coming to the U.S. looking for asylum. We all know of the
unfortunate circumstances Trump has positioned immigrants. People come to
U.S. seeking asylum and are put in detention centers. They have no access to
medical care after being abused and aren’t being given the basics of fresh food
and clean water, thus increasing the chances of illness. They aren’t given legal
counsel or contact with family members to assist them . The are required to work
for $1 a day to accumulate money for phone calls and or fresh food.
6. Identifying Likeminds and Delivering the Message
Bottomline, everyone under the son is born with human and civil rights. This is
forgotten too often. Innocent until proven guilty is not just a cliche. One group of
people should not be targeted and used for profit of their demise. A stop must be
put to an end to quotas on policing and prisons . A person should be free to
move to any part of the world that they desire. Phone calls should be free in
prisons. Poor food should not be served in hopes to benefit from commissary.
Equal amounts of policing in all communities. Police should be made to police
the communities in which they live or where the are from. Everyone under the
sun should participate in fairness. Black is the Presence of all Colors.
