• Cults
Same as like a sects. Cults are new religious groups.
• Sect
A small and relatively new group and most of the well-
known.
• Denomination
A large, mainstream religious organization, but it does
not claim to be official or state sponsored. It is one
religion among many.
• Ecclesia
Refer to a religious group that most all members of a
society belong to and considered a nationally
recognized, or official, religion that holds a religious
monopoly and is closely allied with state and secular
powers.

scriptures. There are many

says that, Hinduism is a
monotheistic religion because
these gods are derived or are

Almighty. Hindu holidays in
Indonesia are Nyepi,
Kuningan, and Galungan.
Christianity is centered on
belief in God Almighty, so it
is Monotheistic. The
Christian Scriptures are
called the Bible.The Bible
has been translated into
various national and local
languages in the
archipelago. The famous
holy days of Christians
include Christmas, and
Easter. In Indonesia, there
are 6.9% of Protestants

The God of Confucianism is
called Huang Ti. The Confucian
prophet is Kongzi. Confucianism
believes in the existence of Tao /
Dao, which is an orderly system
that governs the universe.
Confucians always try to live in
harmony with the Dao. This
religion comes from the Chinese
people who came to Indonesia.
Currently, Confucianism in
Indonesia is 0.05% with a holy
book called Shishu Wujing.
Catholic Confucianism
Catholicism is one of
the religions in
Indonesia which is
denominated in
Christianity.
Catholicism emerged in
Indonesia when the
Portuguese arrived in
the Maluku islands.
The Moluccans also
became the first
Catholics in Indonesia.

BUDDHISM
Buddhism is a religion that was
born from the teachings of
Hinduism. Unlike Hinduism,
Buddhism does not recognize
social strata. Buddhism is
centered on the teachings of
Siddhartha Gautama.
Buddhism is actually spread
and well rooted among the
Chinese, Japanese, Thai,
Korean and other Asians. The
holy book of Buddhism is
called the Tripitaka. one of the
oldest religions in the world as
well as Indonesia. Currently,
the number of Buddhists in
Indonesia reaches 0.7%.

a. Respect the rights and obligations of followers of
other religions.
b. Make friends regardless of religion and belief.
c. Do not prevent followers of other religions who are
worshiping.
d. Do not impose our religious teachings and beliefs on
