Many immigrants view the United States as the land of opportunity because it presents them with
life options they may not have had in their countries. Immigrating to the United States of
America gave me the opportunity to go back to college and get my Bachelor Degree in Business
Administration/Leadership Management. At the beginning, I had many difficulties trying to
adapt to this new commencement in my life, but with my professors’ support and my
perseverance, I went back to school and now I am in my senior year preparing for my graduation
in May 2015.
I didn’t have any work experience in the United States, but in my country Lebanon I worked as
a receptionist at Mena House Resort, and as an assistant manager and customer service
representative for ten years at ETS. M. Charabaty—a tile company. I am a trilingual. I speak
Arabic, French, and English. I learned at UMass Dartmouth, that I cannot succeed if I don’t
motivate positive behavior, and build a good relationship with the people around me. After
graduation, my goal is to start a new business and apply my studies skills to build a career and
achieve all my dreams.
