My teaching reflection
- 1. My Teaching Reflection
Teachingisa complexprocess.Inateachingprocess,theteacherhastobeinconsiderationmanyaspectsinorderto
make thatprocess,successfulandinteresting.Ateacherhastobeconcernednotonlywiththemethodologythat s/he
appliesinhis/herclass,butalsohowthatmethodologyandstrategieswillaffecttotheirstudents inthefuturelearning
process.
Aswe know,a goodlearningexperienceadvantagesto constantachievements,whereasabadonecouldhave
consequences overthechildren;thustheworkandcreativityteacherscarryoneveryclassbecomesreally important
becausethelearningprocessofthestudentswilldependonthem.
A book whichI considerreallyinterestingandI lovedit is “ThePracticeofEnglish LanguageTeaching”whereJeremy
Harmer1
(2001) statesthat“Within thegeneralareaofmethodology,peopletalkaboutapproaches,methods,techniques,
proceduresandmodels,allofwhichgointothepracticeofEnglishteaching”;herewerealize thattheteacherisnotonly
spendtimewithchildrenin aclassroom,bea teacherimpliesseveralaspectsthatwillhaveanimpactinthe students.
Asmy experience,I usedtothink thatteachingwasonlybe in a classroomandteachwhat thelearnersneed, however
whenI startedtostudyandenteredin aschool,I realizedthatmy thoughtwaswrong.Insideaclassroomexistsanother
reality,every groupisdifferentandthustheyhavedifferentnecessities.Soforaclasstobesuccessful, itmustbe
constructedbya specificmethodology, strategies,interestingmaterialandactivities.
Personally,I preferthePPP(Presentation,PracticeandProduction) duringkinderandprimarylevelandin secondary
schoolI prefer CommunicativeApproachAccordingtoJeremyHarmer(2009),thePPP approachiswidelyusedduring
theteachingprocessatlowerlevels.WhichI totally agree,becauseduringthefirstyearsthatstudentslearnthesecond
language, itis difficultthatthestudentscouldproduce itwithoutproblems,howeveralessonplandevelopedwiththis
approachandwithcreativity,makesthatatthefinishofthelesson,thestudentscouldproducechunksusingthesecond
language.

students.AccordingtoHarmer2
“…aspectoftheCommunicativeapproachiscloselyrelatedtotheideathatlanguage
learningwill take careofitself,andthatplentifulexposuretolanguageinuseand plentyofopportunitiestouseitis
vitally importantforastudent´sdevelopmentofknowledgeandskill”. Alsoheadds “A guidingprinciple(withinthis
approach)wastotrainstudentstousetheselanguageformsappropriatelyinavarietyofcontextsandforavariety of
purposes”AtthebeginningI consideredthisapproachdifficult,butitisimportantintroduceanewstylewith

One ofmy futuregoalsasateachertomaintainmy way ofworking, orderingandbe accessibleformy students, making

wonderfullanguage.AlsoI liketheidea,not onlyofcreatingempathywithmy students,becauseI considerit isakey
