Yolanda's Bio_2013
1. Yolanda Belser
Multitalented. Passionate. Approachable.
Three words that perfectly describe Yolanda Belser, Chief Executive Officer of Y Square
Management, a talent brand management and event production agency based in
Charlotte, North Carolina. As the CEO, Yolanda develops Y Square’s business objectives and
organizational policies. Within her role she solicits booking opportunities and plans and
executes creative brand strategies surrounding her clients. She is also the lead event and
production planner.
In the birth of Y Square Management, Yolanda combined her expertise in image consulting
alongside her experience with owning and operating prior businesses, to coordinate huge
events and manage elite brands. Her foundation of entrepreneurship is built on more than
fifteen years of solid business relationships together with a fiery passion to serve her clients
with no less than extraordinary results.
After landing the company’s first client, comedian Tone-X, who went on to become a writer
and talent for BET’s Mo’Nique Show; Yolanda’s reputation skyrocketed leading to several
high profile clients and deals soon after. Yolanda sharpened her event production skills
with the successful execution of the Alley Hoops Jam in 2006. With over 8,000 spectators
and nearly half of the Charlotte Uptown area blocked off, this event set the bar for other
black businesswomen, as Y Square Management became the first to pull off this kind of
feat.
Yolanda’s resilience and motivation for continuous growth of her business, stems from the
birth of her son, London Nasir Belser; he was born at seven and a half months under
emergency conditions and was one pound and five ounces small. “This was life changing for
me because never had I fought and prayed so hard for something or someone I loved. His life
showed me God has bigger plan for us even when we don't realize it. So this pushed and
motivated me even more to go harder with my business, and love, live & enjoy life to the
fullest.”
In the last few years, Yolanda continues to persevere and reap the rewards of past
adversities and challenges that the industry served her. Mentorship of interns and clients
alike, illustrates her natural knack of solid leadership which translates into successful
relationships and furthering steady growth of Y Square Management. Some of the lessons
she credits her success to include refusing to partake in “emotional business,” acquiring a
sense of discernment and value your worth. Yolanda has built a thick skin all while
maintaining a beautiful and nurturing personality. She wears all of her hats well; mother,
2. businesswoman, fashionista, leader, and any other role that her heart prompts her to take
on. She is the epitome of Y Square’s mantra “Coming at You from Every Angle.”
