Empire is the leading independent HR & HS company in
Scotland with over 500 clients and a proven track-record of

The management team at Empire have been delivering HR
services since 1996 with Steve Cook as Managing Director.
PJ Chalmers, as HR/Operations Director, has overall
responsibility for service delivery within the company and
ensuring that our high quality standards are maintained.

4. Advice Support Service
Our Advice Support service is currently delivered by a team of 18 HR/legal
professionals all qualified to CIPD level or with a legal qualification.
Guiding and advising you through any difficult employee
relations issues the Advice Line team will:-
 Provide unlimited access to advice on the full range of
HR/employment law topics;
 Each call is logged to ensure each case can be tracked;
 Email advice backing up telephone enquiries can be provided;
 Correspondence required on each case is provided.

5. Advice Support Service
Typical support queries can include:-
 Conduct/disciplinaries/Grievances;
 Problems with absenteeism;
 Underperformance;
 Redundancies;
 Contractual queries;
 Dismissal.

6. Advice Support Service
The Advice Support Service includes:
 Review & updating of Contracts of Employment &
Handbooks; HR policies & procedures;
 Employee correspondence;
 Monthly Bulletin (keeping you up to date with recent
highlights in the world of employment law/HR!).

7. EDI (Tribunal) Insurance
 Where advice is sought and followed, any subsequent Tribunal
claims which arise will be picked up by the indemnity
insurance;
 Any Tribunal Case will be managed and represented by a
specialist in employment law, overseen by our in-house
Barrister;
 All costs of representation covered with awards covered up to
£1m per annum in aggregate.

8. Tribunal Representation
The Empire Head of Litigation is Craig Bennison who has
extensive experience in representing businesses at
employment tribunals;
Craig is a Barrister specialising in Employment law and
related business subjects who will look after
any Tribunal matters on your behalf.
