• Key information:
• The job of a good lead designer is to encourage people smarter than they are to do their
job well.
• Lead designer responsible for managing a team of designers and making sure that the
apparel’s overall vision is achieved.
• As the lead, I am accustomed to putting out fires, doing what needs to be done, maintain a
good attitude and teach those working with me the ropes. By myself or with the help of
others, I establish the apparel’s core visual identity and define its key features in the range.
• Able to analyze and critique work, my own along with everyone else’s.
• Work a great deal with graphic designers and developers to make sure the feature that
we’re hoping to achieve is feasible technically and artistically.
• I believe a good lead knows when to get out of the way and encourage others to help
shape the Apparel design. Good apparel designs are rarely the “vision” of a single
individual, but rather a collective whole.
