2. What is it?
• Wireless Ethernet is a local area
network usually within a home
or office that is not based mainly
on physical wiring but uses
wireless transmissions between
workstations. It is also known as
wireless LAN.

3. How does it
work?
• The connection which is called
WiFi, transmits data through
various wireless signals while on
the other hand and ethernet
connection transmits the data
through a cable. Since there are
no cables necessary to access a
WiFi connection, thus provides
increased mobility for those who
can connect to the Internet or a
network freely.

4. Advantages
• A strong advantage of a wireless
LAN is that a cable is not
necessary for the device to
communicate with the network
making a wireless LAN and
efficient solution for a number of
applications.

5. Wireless LANs
• A wireless LAN is perfect for an
environment when it is not possible to
run cabling. These places include
warehouses, historic buildings,
buildings with thick walls made of
concrete, and other areas that are
difficult to drill holes through the
walls, floors, and ceilings.
• Not only are wireless LANs
appropriate for difficult locations it is
also efficient for business offices,
meeting rooms, high school/college
campuses, as well as libraries.
Wireless LANs are used here due to
the widely network operations that
individuals use at these places.
