 Page 63-64-65
 In the beginning , there was Chaos (nothingness)
 Chaos has 2 children : Night and Erebus (death-dark)
 From darkness and death, Love was born
 Love created Light and Day

Uranus hate this creatures
and prisoned them in the
centre of earth  put them
forcely to their mother’s womb
 Father Ouranos  handsome father
 Mother Gaiea  ugly mother
They have both ugly (centimani and cyclops) and goodlooking children (titans)
 Father hated ugly children
 Ouranos hated the things with hundred hands and fifty head so he imprisoned

 He tried to make human more special than animal.
 Prometheus then took over the task of creation
 He stole fire from Zeus’s weapon (lightning bolt) to give men protection while
living in the earth
 Fire is the most important weapon to scare over animal
After stole the fire, he arranged that human should get the best part of animal sacrificed,
and the God get the worst
Human can take a better part and give bones to god.
Fat and bones burned to God.
Prometheus cheated zeus.
He cut a great ox. He wrapped the good part in the hide, bad part at the
front. He put bones dressed with shining fat. Zeus choose between them
and he choose bones which covered with fat. He was so angry
There after only fat and bones were burned to the Gods upon their altars,
Men kept the good meat
 Zeus wants to revenge on mankind first and mankind friend
 He made a great evil for men  woman (There are 2 versions)
VERSION 1
All Gods give the
woman a giftThe
woman is
beautiful,sweet,lovely
and shy
The woman called
Pandora
Pandora become an
evil to men
Zeus gave Pandora
(first woman to men)
VERSION 2
The Gods present her a box
She was curious to open the box
All the bad things ;harmful are inside that box
Pandora was sent by Zeus to Epimetheus (stupid brother).
Prometheus has warned Epimetheus not to received anything
from Zeus
UNFORTUNATELY Epimetheus gladly welcome her Pandora
is a beautiful girl. Epimetheus tell Pandora not to open the box
Because of the curiousity, Pandora open the box. Then all the
bad things came out. She cant close the box. There is one thing
left in the box  Hope
PANDORA’S BOX Previously the human
race used to live
completely free from
evils and hard work and
painful diseases. But
the woman removed
the great cover of the
jar with her hands and
scattered the evils
within and for mortals
devised sorrowful
troubles.
Hope alone remained
within there under the
edge of the jar . . .
Hesiod, Works and Days
For weeks Pandora resisted the box, but
one day she broke the seal and opened
it. Out flew all the diseases, sorrows and
disasters that afflict humankind. Pandora
tried to close the box but more and more
troubles covered the earth. The only thing
she could keep hold of was hope.
 Because Prometheus caring so much for men
 He bound Prometheus on a huge rock ,in a
high mountain
 The eagle will come to eat Prometheus’s

To see the differences between real story and Disney story
Disney try to remake the story that suitable for kids (no violence)
 The son of the sun-god Helios.
 When Phaeton ("the shining one")
 finally learned who his father was
 he went east to meet him.
 He ask his father to allow him to drive the chariot of the sun across the heavens
for one day.
 His father warned him that it would be danger. But finally helios grant his wish
 The horses, feeling their reins held by a weaker hand, ran wildly out of their
course and came close to the earth, threatening to burn it.
 Zeus noticed the danger and with a thunderbolt he destroyed Phaeton.
 He fell down into the legendary river Eridanus where he was found by the river
nymphs who mourned him and buried him. The tears of these nymphs turned into
amber.
 For the Ethiopians however it was already too late: they were scorched by the
heat and their skins had turned blackburned by thunder bolt.
 Daedalus was an architect
 King Minos ask Daedalus to make a labyrinth (cannot escape from
it)
 Labyrinth to imprison Monster named Minotaur
 Minos imprisoned Daedalus and his son,Icarus inside the labyrinth because
Daedalus betrayal Minos
 One day, Daedalus wants his son escape from the labyrinth
 He made wings for his son. He made it from glue
He told his son how to fly.( not too high- not too low). He must keep away from sun,
because the heat would make the glue melt and destroying the wings
If too high, the heat of the sun will melt the wings
If too low, someone will notice that he is escaping from the labyrinth
 Icarus start to fly first. Although he was warned, Icarus was
too young and too enthusiastic about flying. He got excited by
the thrill of flying and carried away by the amazing feeling of
freedom and started flying high to salute the sun, diving low to
the sea, and then up high again.
 His father Daedalus was trying in vain to make young Icarus
to understand that his behavior was dangerous, and Icarus
soon saw his wings melting.
 Icarus fell into the sea and drowned. The Icarian Sea, where he fell,
was named after him and there is also a nearby small island called
Icaria.
