2. Idea
• Idea Description:
• Detection of occupants inside the car
• Camera sensors are used inside the car
• System should detect and classify the below inside the car
• Occupant
• Empty seat
• Pose Estimation of the occupant occupied in seat
• Child seat empty
• Child seat with Child
• Unknow object in Seats
• Seat Belt detection
• Algorithm is based on Convolution Neural Network
architecture
• System provides inputs to Airbag Controller to make decision on
inflating the airbag based on occupant present in seats
• Finally target on hardware

Preprocessing phase includes following steps:

Data Collection :
• -Capturing videos, images from the camera which is fitted inside the vehicle.
• -Download from free sources .
Gray Scale :
• -Convert dataset into gray scale format.
CLAHE :
• -Apply Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization algorithm on Gray
Scaled data.
Compression :
• -Apply compression on CLAHE applied dataset(75kb~130kb)
Rename :
• -Rename all dataset in one format e.g. “Img0001.jpg”

6. Data Collection and Data Labelling Activity
It includes annotating all the
target objects present in the
frame and generates XML file in
VOC-XML file format.
