Topic: The human
            excretory system.

Aim: How can we describe the structure &
the function of the E.S.?
Do Now; .Explain the function of the E.S.
What are the organs of the ES
&their functions?
 The Skin.  Excrete perspiration
                                    through skin pores
 The urinary system (the  The kidneys filter urea &
kidneys, ureters, urinary excess water & salt from
bladder, & the urethra) the blood. Urine is
                                    removed through the
                                    urethra from the U.
 The lungs. bladder.
                                 The lungs excrete CO2
                                    &water vapor during
                                    exhalation.
How is the liver involved in the
process of excretion?.
1. The liver produces urea (nitrogenous
waste), by breaking down excess amino
     acids.
2. It removes poisons (alcohol) from the
     blood.
3. It stores extra sugar in the form of
     glycogen (animal starch).
What are the metabolic wastes? .
 Carbon dioxide  Formed during
    &Water. aerobic respiration.
 Urea (nitrogenous  Resulting from the
    waste breakdown of amino
                            acids.
 Mineral salts.  Formed from the
                            breakdown of various
                            compounds in the
    . cells.
What are the
excretory system
disorders? .
Name& describe all the disorders.
Explain the cause of the each
disease.
