Welcome to the Fall edition of the Political Science newsletter. Below you
will find spotlights and news about what is happening in our department.
We are very excited to announce the second year of our Alumni
Mentorship Program. We currently have 30 Alumni mentors, and we have
received positive feedback from our students. We’d love to expand the
program, so if you did not volunteer last year but would like to serve as a

navigated their careers after graduation during the

Money in politics expert Trevor Potter delivered Fall
Convocation. Potter is the former chairman of the
Federal Election Commission (FEC) and is one of
the top campaign finance lawyers in the country.

The second Career Cafe Series Luncheon focused
on the nonprofit sector. Political science alumni
discussed why they decided to pursue careers in the
nonprofit sector and how the political science major
has prepared them for their positions. Read more »
Faculty Spotlight
This December Dr. Jo Ann Ewalt will retire from her
successful career at College of Charleston.
Professor Ewalt joined the Department of Political
Science in July 2011 and served as the Director of
the Master of Public Administration (MPA)
