Blog Comment: Johnson & Johnson
2. Johnson & Johnson has once again, managed to fuck things up for themselves. Consumers first
reported complaints regarding quality control issues in 2008 when stores had to pull Motrin from
the shelves. It is now three years later, and they have not resolved the issue. I guess the 13.3
BILLION dollars in profit they made in 2010 was not enough to fix the problem. To make
matters worse for the Fortune 500 Company, on September 26, 2011, Scott Bartz , a former
employee and whistleblower of the Johnson & Johnson company, released his book entitled:
The Tylenol Mafia: Marketing, Murder, and Johnson & Johnson. Talk about perfect timing!
Hehehehe!!! For those who actually read this comment and are too young to remember;in 1982,
seven people in the Chicago area died after ingesting Extra Strength Tylenol capsules poisoned
with cyanide. These murders produced the tamper-resistant packaging present on all medications
today. Bartz claims that Johnson & Johnson staged a cover-up to distance themselves from any
legal issues that could have arisen from the murders. The public's scrutiny against Johnson &
Johnson right now does not surprise me in the least. Johnson & Johnson have been
charged/accused on many occasions for crimes such as corruption, bribery, channel stuffing,
kickback schemes, and illegal dismissal of whistleblowers. Johnson & Johnson are obviously just
as corrupt as all the other corporations we have discussed in class.DIRT BAGS!
