Legalizing drugs may be the best option for Mexico to stop the violence of drug cartels, as their border situation is extreme and cartels are bringing corruption into the U.S. as well. If Mexico can end the power of cartels through legalization, it would save Texas a significant amount of money spent fighting the drug war at their shared border, while also boosting Mexico's economy. The author hopes Mexico seriously considers legalization since corruption and cartels are making an already difficult situation much worse.

1. At this point, legalizing drugs is really the only reasonable option that Mexico has. Their border
is INSANE not only are they killing each other like nothing we have seen in a long time they are
also bringing their corruption to the United States. I hope that the US will pick up legalization of
drugs also, but I don't believe it will be any time soon. Therefore, it Mexico can put a stop to the
cartel then this would be a tremendous savings for Texas. I am not exactly sure how much
money our state spends fighting the drug war at Mexico’s borders, but I think it is probably safe
to say that it is significant. It will probably boost the Mexican economytoo. Good for Mexico! I
really hope that they seriously consider this as an option for their country. They do not have
much going for their country right now, so when corruption and cartel are added to the mix, it
cannot be good . . .
