aconcert hall venue in a fascinating area of the world
where a new generation of futuristic and large scaled
construction has spawn.This concert venue opens up
to a public plaza on Dubai’s one of many man-made
islands in the heart of downtown. Located on Burj
Island, along the Burj Dubai Lake, this venue is created
below ground into the island, and reaches up past the
ground plane, creating an exciting experience from
entry to descention into the space.

designs of the Eastern world introduce highly intimate

8. catalina case study
flagstaff, az
use: residence scope: 2400 sq.ft
acase study featuring the “Catalina House,” designed
by architect Rick Joy.This was a project to analyze an
existing stucture in fine detail and interpret a physical
3D model from a 2D interpretation. Materiality and
craft were of the utmost importance in representing
the architects work.

The center provides a safe and resourceful environ-
ment for women who are in need of care, with services
offered such as crisis intervention, counseling, fitness,

they need, in a healthy and soothing environment they
