I’m very pleased to recommend Kim Vith for the position of Engineer 1. As a fellow Engineer in Transmission Line
Engineering (TLE), I’ve worked alongside Kim for the past 2 years. Not only has she been a key player on various
teams under Jerrid Yankauskas, but she’s also become a good personal friend. Kim’s skills and leadership
qualities would make her an invaluable addition to TLE and NIPSCO, if hired as a direct and permanent
employee. Two years of proven personal performance have seasoned her to be a NIPSCO natural.
Kim marries her highly adaptive engineering skills with intuitive knowledge for cost effective problem solving.
Kim uses strategic tactics, to right size engineering resources and effectively communicate needs to all NIPSCO
departments across the board. Kim takes on multiple high profile projects and has produced better than
expected results time after time.
Along with her quick learning of distribution engineering skills, Kim has demonstrated a natural interest in my
specialty, High Voltage Transmission. On several projects involving 345kV and 138kv NIPSCO transmission lines
she assisted me on preparing project details with minimum tutelage or training. This was very amazing as it
takes years in some cases to be as productive as she was in several months. Additional high voltage projects will
only sharpen the skills she already possesses.
In addition to her professional qualifications, Kim has personal qualities that make her well-suited to leadership.
She’s naturally fallen into the role of “point person” that so many outside personnel go to her with questions.
She’s not afraid to take calculated risks and often suggests new directions to explore on her numerous projects.
She’s committed to safety, quality and she inspires her team members to strive for the same. In short, Kim is a
person with NIPSCO vision.
On a personal note, Kim has become a close friend over our years of working together at NIPSCO. She has
participated in several social events sponsored by the company and has proactively joined, “GOLD”.
Kim has my highest recommendation for the position Engineer 1 in TLE. I’m excited to see the areas of high
