Dear Patronof the Arts,

wanting towork with me onmy future films. My reputationas a visionary hasbeen provenby my hard
work overthe years preparing for this career move. I havespent twenty-sevenyears perfecting my style,
masteringthe craft of directing throughtheart of theater. I was always accusedof workinglike a film
director while runningmy owntheater company. My trainingfor theater at StephensCollege and Oxford
University in England combinedwith film studiesat AFTRSand the VCA in Melbourne, Australiain the
early 2000’shasfully prepared me for thisleap. I am a full member with the Australian Directors Guild
andsince 1996 I havebeen with the AFI (Australian Film Institute)as an Accredited CastingDirector. In
2007 I was a judge for the Australian Film InstituteAwards in the Best New YoungTalent Category. I have
been a Member of the Australian Writers Guild, an Equity Actress and listed as a wardrobe standby
professionalwith the MEAA Unionsince 1999. I havealso been a judge, a script reader andassessorfor
two major theater companies.
As actress, teacher, creative consultant, and casting director, I have been in the positionto work
outcharacter development, scene studiesandpreproduction preparationwith many actors for hundreds
of projects from Corporate Videosto shortfilms to privatestage productions. Asfor my visualwork, I
have been artistic director for overthirty projects. I would like to say hundredsbutmuchof my time was
occupied raising my daughterand takingcare of my first husbandwhosuffered severely from mental
illness which robbedme of years of a having a fuller career. Thisis why I am startingthis new chapterof
my life doingwhat I love most, film writing anddirecting. I spent ten years studyingtheart of producing
andwriting while living in Australia. I held a seat on the EventsCommitteefor The Directors Guild and
the Boardof Directors for Women in Film and Television, Victoria, Australia, organizingcelebrity
luncheon’sand film set andstudiotoursat the Dock LandsFilm Studios in Melbourne, Australia for three
consecutiveyears from 2009-2012. I alsoAssistantProduceddoingfootage clearance for a National
Television Show, for Australia’sAmbassadortoour Emmy’s, GaiDunlop, my referring Producer.
With outstandingreviews for my work bothhere in the USAand in Australia, I come to youtoday
to ask youto consider me. My first professionalgig in Australia was as AssistantDirector at the Malt
House Theater on the Award winning productionof RememberRonald Ryan by Barry Dickenswhich he re
wrote while we directed it in 1994. Italso won the 1995 VictorianPremier’s Literary Award. I have revised
andedited many original scriptsfor otherwriters since then as well. I rarely received appropriatecredit
for my work asrewriter, largely due tothe fact thatI was anAmerican living in Australia during the Gulf
War and we were frowned uponso, “Gray Listed” so tospeak. My Australian debut, MissJulia by August
Strindberg, was a Melbourne“Highlight” in 1995. In1996 I hadreturningpatronsto a surreal New
Zealand play, Fold. My productionof Jonde Hartog’s, The Fourposterwascalled a “Winter Treat” in a Tri
State newspaperin Connecticut, Massachusetts, andNewYork in 1999 andwas the catalystfor the
restorationfor The Norfolk Opera Housewhich is now called Infinitely Music Hall. In 2002, duetoits
sexual content I requested to remain anonymousformy work directing, 360 Positionsina One Night
Standfor the MelbourneFringe Festivaland in the end it won a Green RoomAward nominationfor Best
Actress. I was never credited for my work with RandomCow Theatre.
