1. Dear Sir or Madam:
It is my great pleasure to inform you of my intent to pursue a position as a Business, Computer,
and Information Technology Teacher with your school district. I believe that my strong
educational background, combined with instructional abilities, and advanced technological skills
makes me the best candidate for this position. I received my M.Ed. from the University of
Pittsburgh in 2005 and am certified in five different content areas, including Business, Computer,
and Information Technology. I am currently employed as a Business, Computer, and Information
Technology Teacher with the Agora Cyber Charter School. I have taught a wide range of classes,
including Programming, CAD, Keyboarding, and Microsoft Office.
In addition to my experience as a Business, Computer, and Information Technology Teacher, I
was also employed as an Instructional Technologist with both the South Allegheny and Yough
School Districts. I facilitated a 30-hour 21st Century Teaching and Learning course entitled The
Need for Change and conducted Professional Development trainings on technology integration.
Furthermore, under the tutelage of Dr. Trenia Walker at the University of Pittsburgh, I had the
opportunity to work as a Graduate Assistant and teach technology integration to graduate
students enrolled in a class entitled Technology in Social Studies Education.
Although I have received an extensive amount of training on technology integration, my most
meaningful experiences have occurred in the classroom. I plan to incorporate my knowledge of
evidence based practices to create an authentic, rigorous, and relevant learning environment
where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential. I look forward to hearing from you
and discussing how my expertise can best serve your district.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Chicchi, M.Ed.
