2. Recruitment
• Recruitment is one of the most important function of HR management.
• Recruitment is a process of selecting and appointing suitable candidates for
job within an organization.
• We can also say that it is one of the primary steps, because only after
the recruitment the organization gets the employees to whom it can allot
work,
organize and make them accomplish their goals.
• It can be temporary or permanent.
• A candidate may or may not be paid after the recruitment.
3. Recruitment can be divided in 2 types:
(1)Internal Recruitment:
• In internal recruitment, employees of same organization are
interviewed or examined for new job or for promotion.
(2)External Recruitment:
• In external recruitment, candidates having required qualifications
are invited for the recruitment through various media.
4. We can also classify recruitment on basis of method of recruitment.
(1) Mobile Recruitment: It is the method for connecting jobs and
candidates via mobile devices.
(2) Social Recruitment: In the method, The recruiters uses social media
like Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. for attract candidates and to advertise the
vacancy.
5. Recruitment Process
Recruitment Process:
• It is the model of how the sourcing of new employees is
undertaken.
• This process is organization-specific. It means it changes
organization to organization.
6. The whole process can be divided in 5 steps:
(1) Recruitment Planning:
• It involves the analysis of how many vacancies are there in the
organization and candidates with what qualifications are required to
fulfil that vacancies.
(2) Strategy Development:
• In the step, Organization decides from which region they are
going to perform recruitment and they also decides the sequence of
activities to be performed.
• The organization also decides the source for recruitment (Internal or
External)
7. (3)Searching:
• The organization also have to decide the source for recruitment
(Internal or External).
(4)Screening:
• Screening is the initial phase of recruitment in which the
candidates fulfils the application form.
• During this part, the candidates with lower qualifications than
requirement are directly eliminated.
• After the screening organization organizes various steps to filter and
select most suitable candidates like written exams, group discussions,
personal interviews.
8. • After the candidates are selected for the job 'Evaluation & Control'
takes place.
(5)Evaluation & Control:
• The HR department decides the salary for the employee, the time of
job, benifits in case of overtime, etc.
