Paul Ketcham named superintendent of Batesville Community School Corporation
Ketcham’s contract begins Jan. 1, 2017
Batesville, Ind.—Oct. 18, 2016 – The Batesville Community School Corporation (BCSC) Board of School
Trustees approved Paul Ketcham as the corporation’s new superintendent during its monthly board
meeting on Monday. Ketcham, currently superintendent at Milan Community Schools, will start his
contract with BCSC on Jan. 1, 2017. Ketcham’s contract was approved unanimously by the board.
“We are excited to welcome Paul to our school corporation and look forward to working with him to
continue the academic excellence that makes Batesville Community Schools among the best in the state
of Indiana,” said school board member Jeremy Raver, who led the superintendent search for BCSC.
Ketcham became the leading candidate for BCSC superintendent in October after an extensive search.
He replaces Jim Roberts who announced last May that he accepted the same position leading
Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation.
Ketcham, who has 17 years of education experience, has served as Milan’s school superintendent for
three years. During that time, the 1,150-student district experienced the largest increase in ISTEP+
scores in the state in both math and English/language arts in 2014, with a 14.3 percent increase. The
district also boasts a 94 percent graduation rate and was awarded its first “Four-Star School” designation
by the Indiana Department of Education for Milan Elementary School. Ketcham also provided oversight
in the district’s 1:1 technology program.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with an exceptional team of professionals committed to
enriching the lives of all students in BCSC,” said Ketcham, a Batesville resident for six years. “I look
forward to meeting with staff, parents and community leaders to have ongoing dialogue about how we
can strengthen educational opportunities for our children.”
About Paul Ketcham
Married for 22 years to wife, Krista, a nurse at Margaret Mary Health. The Ketcham’s have three

community partners. This school corporation is a statewide leader in maximizing partnerships among
community organizations and businesses to increase learning opportunities for students. The continued
support from Batesville Community Education Foundation, Batesville Rotary Club and many other
partners shows students and staff that this is a town committed to investing in academic excellence. It’s
one of the many things that makes Batesville special.
The mission of Batesville Community School Corporation is to educate all students in an environment of
academic excellence, preparing them for productive and responsible citizenship in a global community.
