The Alabama State Bar announced that Phillip McCallum, an experienced Birmingham-based attorney, will become the new executive director of the organization, effective June 2022. McCallum graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and has over 30 years of legal experience, including founding his own law firm and serving as president of the Alabama State Bar. He will replace the current executive director, Keith Norman, who is retiring.

Kenneth Randall, Alabama

2. INTRODUCTION
 Experienced Alabama attorney Kenneth “Ken”
Randall currently serves as the president and chief
executive officer of iLaw and iLawGlobal in
Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In conjunction with his day-to-
day work, Kenneth Randall is a member of the
Alabama Bar Association.
Birmingham, Alabama-based attorney Phillip
McCallum has been selected to serve as the new
executive director of the Alabama State Bar. The
organization announced the move in January, with
the appointment becoming effective in June when
current executive director Keith Norman retires.

 A Cumberland School of Law graduate at
Samford University, McCallum first began
practicing law in 1988, going on to serve three
years with the Jefferson County District
Attorney’s Office before moving into private
practice. He is one of the founders of McCallum,
Methvin & Terrell, P.C., and has served in
various organizational capacities throughout his
career, including stints with the Birmingham Bar
Association and the Alabama Supreme Court
Chief Justice’s Commission for Professionalism,
as well as a two-year term as Alabama State
Bar president.
